Why Lakeside Bible Camp?
“Lakeside is a beacon in a cold and dark world we live in. Every year tons of students and families come here to hear the gospel, learn to serve, and be trained to be church leaders. When other camps and ministries are being fairly low key with the gospel, LBC continues to preach the gospel unashamedly, and yet deal with a wide variety of issues that families and students come up against. Over 500 volunteers make LBC run and support the camp’s vision and ministry by serving as cooks, cabin leaders, nurses, worship leaders, discipleship leaders, etc. If your church is looking for a local outlet for your people to learn to serve and engage the Kingdom effort towards kids and parents in our area…send them our way.
Conversely, several churches support Lakeside through their Mission committees/efforts every month. Donating to our scholarship funds or many of our various projects. There is no better effect mission dollar in the US, in our opinion, that the dollar that is given to Lakeside to reach one more boy or girl; one more mom or dad for the Kingdom. Plus many churches send their kids to summer camps and winter retreats on a regular basis and at the same time sometimes rent the facility for their own custom experience here on Deer Lake, on beautiful Whidbey Island. We would love to have you join us, support us, get involved in oh so many ways.”

How does LBC present the Gospel?
For 144 hours during a week, the camper’s life gets surrounded with the gospel message at Lakeside.
Campers hear the gospel from the chapel speaker.
Cabin leaders share testimonies.
Campers work on memorizing gospel-centric scripture passages to earn patches.
TCL & Summer Staff treat campers with intentional kindness.
Campers experience 1 to 1 and group discussion conversations with cabin leaders to help them clarify their understanding of the gospel.
Music and worship songs get repeated through the day because campers experience the “It’s a small world” effect.
Even while fishing, campers are encouraged to pray and spend time talking with the Lord and each other about spiritual things.
This is why LBC encourages churches to partner with our ministry. We serve on the same battlefront, complementing your ministry to help you see the fruit in what you do. Where a church may only get to impact a person for 3 hours a week, a camper can get a year’s worth of gospel saturation in a year.
We Need Volunteers
For 65 years, Lakeside has depended on volunteerism to keep running. Below is a link for you, or members of your church to let us know you’re interested in volunteering. We have needs year-round.
Camper Scholarships
At Lakeside Bible Camp, we never want finances to keep a child from experiencing the life-changing impact of camp. If cost is a concern, families can apply for a 25% or 50% scholarship for both retreats and summer camps.
To apply, families should first register their camper and pay the $50 deposit (refundable if assistance isn’t approved). A letter from a pastor or church is required for 50% scholarships.
Please encourage families to apply early—forms are due at least one week before camp, and spots aren’t held without registration.
You’re welcome to pass this along or reach out if you have questions—we’d love to partner with your church to make camp possible for everyone!
