Cabin Friend Requests & Assignments
What about cabin friend requests?
We do our best to accommodate camper cabin friend requests of ONE individual friend OR a GROUP of 3 to 10 friends who provide the same group name at the time of registration. Group names are preferred for groups of 3 or more! Decide on a unique name (like "DMGC Girls") and then have the 3-10 campers who wish to share the same cabin list the group name as their "cabin friend request". Once your group members have been determined, additional campers may be added if the GROUP name is provided in the registration or an e-mail or phone call providing that information is received by the office PRIOR to the Wednesday completion of cabin assignments.
• If multiple names are listed, ONLY the first name will be considered as the Cabin Friend Request.
• There is no need to list the members of your GROUP on the registration, only the GROUP name, but sure to provide this GROUP name to all friends you wish to have in your cabin, so they can put it on their registration form.
• When claiming a BAF discount, be sure to follow the registration form instructions to enter the friend's name in both the BAF and Cabin Friend Request fields if desired.
ALL CABIN ASSIGNMENTS ARE COMPLETED THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT of THE WEEK PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF CAMP (e.g., camp starts Aug. 2, so cabin assignments are completed on the evening of July 29) for DIRECTORS/CABIN LEADERS TO REVIEW AND FINALIZE. THE OFFICE WILL NOT MAKE CABIN ASSIGNMENT CHANGES AFTER THIS DAY.
*Parents or campers may present requests for a change to the director(s) after Sunday afternoon check-in has taken place (usually 3:45 - 4:00 PM) to allow for the majority of campers to arrive. However, requested changes are NOT GUARANTEED and are made only at the request of the the director, who will use many factors on which to base his/her decision.
Unfortunately, if you are registered from a WAITLIST after cabin assignments have been made on Wednesday, your Cabin Friend Request can not be honored by the office because final check-in documents and cabin lists will have been prepared. If a change is desired, please contact the director of your camp after Sunday check-in to make a request.
